Buildings & Grounds Volunteers advance the mission of YMCA Camp Weaver by partnering with our operations leadership team to provide a safe and welcoming physical campus for our participants. Grounds Team: Tasks vary based on the time of year, but generally include: o Mowing, edging, brush removal (must be at least 21 to operate motorized lawn equipment) o Planting and weeding (preparing and maintaining flower beds, gardens, etc. throughout the year) Skill Based Projects: Skilled volunteers are needed to assist with both ongoing and emergent property needs, including: o Carpentry and light repair o Plumbing o Electrical work o Appliance repair

Want to help camp but can't make a full-time commitment. We have a number of ways that you can make a difference in the lives of thousands of children. - Camp Maintenance Volunteers: Individuals or groups who help with the upkeep of camp facilities, repairing structures, painting, and ensuring the camp is safe and welcoming. - Environmental Stewardship Team: Volunteers dedicated to preserving and enhancing the natural beauty of the campgrounds through planting, trail maintenance, and environmental education initiatives. - Fundraising and Event Planning Committee: Enthusiastic volunteers to organize fundraising events, grant writing, and community outreach programs to support the camp's financial health. - Community Garden Caretakers: Volunteers to maintain and expand the camp's garden, providing fresh produce for camp events and teaching gardening skills to visitors and campers. - Marketing and Social Media Ambassadors: Volunteers to help promote the camp, share stories and updates, and engage with the community through various online platforms and local media. - Alumni Network Coordinators: Individuals who can connect and engage former campers and staff, organizing reunions, alumni events, and leveraging the alumni network for mentorship and support. - Special Events Volunteers: Those who can assist in organizing and running special events hosted at the camp, such as family weekends, educational fairs, and open house days. - Skill-Sharing Workshop Leaders: People willing to share their unique skills or hobbies through workshops or classes, such as photography, cooking, coding, or any other skill that can enrich the camp experience.

Our goal is to help participants recognize and appreciate how their collective efforts within a group setting paves the way for creating effective and cohesive teams. Give back to our non-profit summer camp by successfully completing a project while engaging and overcoming challenges as team. Many of the activities will test teamwork, problem-solving skills, and spirit. The overarching goal of all of our events is to create a unique and memorable experiences for your team. After School Youth development volunteers provide assistance with activities such as homework, games and activities, group supervision, equipment management and special events. Youth development volunteers are expected to promote peer bonds, build positive relationships, show empathy and help youth make positive decisions. Volunteers are expected to provide support to the overall youth development department to create a safe and fun atmosphere.

We need enthusiastic volunteers to help facilitate games, assist with setup and breakdown, support vendors with materials, face paint, lead kids activities and so much more. This is a great way to give back, engage with the community, and be part of an exciting day of activities and learning.
